0% Credit Cards Information
Many credit cards today offer the consumer great deals and promotions for opening a new account with them. One of the most sought after deals is the 0% Credit Cards. These credit cards offer 0% interest on any balance transfer or new purchases during a specific period of time.
Balance transfer offers are great if you currently have a credit card with a balance and a high interest rate . Many of these offers allow you to transfer a balance and pay no interest for 6 months to as much as 16 months. Some companies even offer transfers with no balance transfer fees. Even if a company does charge you a balance transfer fee it is generally around 3%. You are then able to make payments on the balance without incurring any new interest charges during the promotion period. If you do still carry a balance at the end of this promotional period, typically you are charged the normal interest rate on the balance that remains from the beginning of the promotion period. So either plan on paying it off or switching to a new card with a similar promotion.
Some 0% Credit Cards offer you no interest on new purchases. These cards will work great for you if you are planning on making a large purchase. This way you are able to spread the payments over time. Again, these offers typically have a limit and will charge you a higher interest rate on any balance left at the end of the promotion.
You may even find a card that offers you both 0% interest on both balance transfers and new purchases. Some of these credit cards will also offer you reward programs like earning cash back, flying miles, etc. Make sure to do your research while looking for a new credit card. You want a card that will work the way you want it to. If you are someone who pays off your card every month and never carries a balance, then 0% Credit Cards are not the best choice for you. You may prefer one that offers you a high return on flying miles, cash back or other rewards.
Whatever reason you have for wanting a new card, make sure that the card you choose is the right one for your needs.
