Platinum Credit Cards Information
If you are among the top of the pack with regards to credit rating — as in yours is considered excellent — then you should consider applying for and using platinum credit cards. More and more banks are in the position of offering their customers a platinum credit card, therefore you will often find specials on these credit cards. Many times the cards will have a very low — sometimes 0% — introductory interest rate on purchases and balance transfers. After your introductory period, the rate can go up to as high as 19.9% depending on what range of the credit rating scale you fall in to. For the best of the best, the rate will probably remain low; but for those who hover between excellent and good credit, the interest rate will probably be among the highest on the credit card.
By using platinum credit cards, you can also take advantage of greater rewards programs that are offered through the issuing credit card company. Depending on the rewards program chosen, you can earn many extra thousands in bonus points (that can be used for travel, activities and other tangible items — depending on the contracts your credit card company has with the businesses that offer the promotions) or miles; you can also earn a higher percentage on the cash back front, though this really is a minimal amount given that cash-back cards often offer the lowest rebate they can get away with and still get people to use their credit cards.
Too, platinum credit cards are more likely to come in several different designs so the front of your card can be as unique as you are. You can choose from just about anything and some credit card companies allow you to put a picture of your choosing on the front of the card, be it your pet, your significant other or your kids.
You have to be very careful though and make sure you read the fine print of this and al types of credit cards. Because the people who use platinum credit cards are often a little more wealthy than everyone else, you will want to make sure that you are not hit by fees such as the annual fee that we often pay in order to use someones credit card.
